New Era of Clean Energy and Economic Revitalization Unfolds in Pike County, Ohio

Piketon, OH – March 06, 2024 – In a transformative initiative set to redefine the landscape of Central Appalachia, Newpoint Trillium Management, LLC is proud to announce its partnership with TritenIAG, in collaboration with Vista Projects for the groundbreaking Trillium H2Power Project, (tH2Power) in Pike County Ohio Project. This ambitious $1.6 billion venture will establish a world-class 500 metric tons per day decarbonized clean hydrogen production, sustainable power generation, and closed-loop manufacturing complex on the site of the former DOE Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant (PORTS) near Piketon, Ohio.

A Vision for Sustainable Development and Community Revitalization

Poised to drive significant economic growth and provide a blueprint of sustainable industrial development, the initiative marks a pivotal moment in the reindustrialization efforts for the region. Building on more than a decade of planning and development efforts, tH2Power will create more than 1,900 jobs during its construction phase and generate over $346 million in local economic impact. The long-term vision includes the addition of 237 operations and maintenance jobs, contributing nearly $200 million annually to the regional economy.

tH2Power will be developed on 250 acres of remediated land, symbolizing a significant step towards sustainable industrial development and environmental stewardship. Spearheaded by Newpoint Trillium Management, tH2Power, in collaboration with Stephanie Howe and her team at Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service, this project serves as the cornerstone of the Southern Ohio Diversification Initiative’s (SODI) broader site reindustrialization strategy.

Collaborative Relationships Foster Successful Results

tH2Power stands at the forefront of innovative clean energy solutions, creating a world-scale clean-energy model that supports commodity manufacturing and significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions through carbon capture.  The project embodies a collective effort involving state, federal, and community leaders, as well as organized labor, and globally recognized technology leaders to ensure economic stability and prosperity for the communities in the region.
